Progress through Partnership
WBSP is part of a capacity building programme for Local Strategic Partnerships in the south east region called 'Progress through Partnership'. Various events and activities are taking place to explain the LSP's role and support its work in the local community. The PtP programme aims to build the capacity of LSP practitioners and partners to help them understand the opportunities effective partnerships offer and build the expertise to make the best use of them.

One of the key principles of the programme is that it will be peer led, drawing on the experience of, and being guided by, LSP practitioners and partners from across the region.

The programme will support a series of activities including:

A series of events for partners and practitioners to share information and understand the challenges and opportunities LSPs present

A supporting self assessment process for LSPs to benchmark their current situation and understand their development needs

Developing a pool of Practitioner Associates who can provide expert knowledge and/or peer support to individual LSPs

Managing the capacity building fund available to LSPs across the south east region and acting as a broker to assist LSPs in accessing the support best suited to their needs

Developing and supporting regional and sub-regional LSP networks

Building up a knowledge bank of guidance, toolkits and case studies from across the county

Effective sharing of knowledge through the use of

  • Newswires
  • Newsletters
  • The PtP website
  • The PtP Community of Practice
  • An annual conference
  • Case studies

The programme will also support the LAA capacity building work currently being taken forward by the Leadership centre, and will build links with other LSP capacity building work being taken forward across the country.
